I’m Jennifer,

What matters most to me is the relationship I build with each client and the trust we create together. Whether you’re navigating a difficult season, facing a major life transition, or simply looking to understand yourself and your emotions better, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, encouragement, and respect.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional School Counselor, I’ve dedicated my career to helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support. I believe that every person has unique strengths, and my goal is to help you recognize them as we work together to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change.

“I believe everyone deserves a safe space where they can feel heard, accepted, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.”

I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and practical support. I believe everyone deserves a safe space where they can feel heard, accepted, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, parenting challenges, trauma, and major life transitions. I spent 16 years as a school counselor supporting students and families through social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, and later worked in an outpatient setting helping youth who had experienced significant trauma. Healing begins with trust, connection, and feeling genuinely understood.

“Healing begins with trust, connection, and feeling genuinely understood.”

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Enhancement, and Solution-Focused Therapy to create a plan that works for you. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, work through obstacles, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence.

On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., before moving to Wisconsin for college, where I met my college sweetheart—who is now my husband. Together we’ve raised two amazing adult daughters and share our home with a sweet dog who makes sure we get out for daily walks.

My path to becoming a counselor has been anything but traditional. Before entering the counseling profession, I worked as a geologist for nearly 15 years. During college, I also had the incredible opportunity to study and work in Italy, an experience that broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for different cultures and ways of thinking. I was also a ballet dancer for many years, which taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of balance—lessons that continue to influence both my personal and professional life.

Since earning my graduate degree in counseling, I’ve had the privilege of helping others since 2006, first as a school counselor and now in private practice.

Outside of the office, I enjoy sailing, staying active through fitness, spending time with my family and our dog, reading mysteries, psychological thrillers, and just about anything by Stephen King. I’m naturally curious and love learning, especially about nutrition, women’s health, ADHD, and other topics that help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I believe that life’s experiences shape who we are, and they have certainly shaped the compassionate, practical, and down-to-earth approach I bring to my work with clients every day.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I know that reaching out for counseling can feel like a big step, and finding the right therapist is an important part of the process.
